Trips

Every trip is private: just you, up to one friend, and your guide. We pick the river the night before, based on the water.

Walk & wade

Small creeks and quiet water. The best way to learn to cast and read a river.

  • Great first trip
  • Rods, reels, flies, waders

Seasons

When to come.

  1. Spring

    March – mid May

Before the snow melts. Nymphs, the first bug hatches, and nobody else on the river.

  2. Runoff

    Late May – June

The big rivers run high and muddy. We fish lakes and smaller water until they clear.

  3. Summer

    July – August

Dry flies and hoppers. Warm days and the busiest weeks, so book early.

  4. Fall

    September – October

Cool mornings, gold cottonwoods and the year’s biggest brown trout.

A day out

What a full day looks like.

  2. 8:00Boat in the water. Your guide picks the stretch based on that morning’s flows.
  3. NoonLunch on the bank. Sandwiches, something hot in the thermos, and a rest for your casting arm.
  4. 4:30Off the water and back to the shop. Photos sent the same night.
